WORKING PRINCIPLE OF ELECTRIC BELL
When the switch is closed (in on position) current will flow through the circuit. As result, the soft iron core becomes a magnet (electromagnet) and it will attract the hammer toward it. Thus hammer will hit on the gong and produce a sound. When the switch is changed to open condition (in off position) current won't flow so the iron core does not show magnetic properties and the hammer will go back to the normal position by the action of the spring
