ACID RAIN
What is acid rain? .. How acid rain is formed?
Due to some environmental pollutions the amount of acid in rain water becomes excess (pH value less than 5.8), such rains are known as acid rain.
The rain water become acidic because of pollutants such as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and carbon dioxide which are released in to the air from industries, vehicles etc dissolve with rain drops in clouds and form acids such as sulphuric acid, nitric acid and carbonic acid respectively.
Acid rain cause lot of damage to buildings, plants, animals and historical monuments etc.
