LIGHT BASIC FACTS

 Light is a form of energy. Light help as to see objects around as. Light always travels in straight line. Speed of light in vacuum is 3 x 10⁸ m/s.

RAY OF LIGHT

A ray of light is the straight line representing the direction of motion of light energy in a medium.

LUMINOUS OBJECTS 

Some objects has the ability to gives out or emit light of their on. Such type of objects are known as luminous objects.

eg:- sun, electric lamps, touch bulbs etc

TRANSPARENT, OPAQUE AND TRANSLUCENT OBJECTS 

Some objects doesn’t allows light to pass through it, so we can’t see through such objects at all. Objects which have the property like this is called opaque objects.

eg:- wood, hard boards

Some objects allows light to pass through it, so we are able to see clearly through it. Such type of objects are known as transparent objects.

eg:- glass, water 

There are some objects through which we can see, but not very clearly. Such objects allows only partial light to pass through it. They are known as translucent objects.

eg :- oil paper

SHADOW

When light fall on an opaque object in any angle less than 90⁰ a dark spot in the shape of that object is formed in the opposite side of the light source. That dark spot is shadows.
