Or

Speed is a measure of the rate of change of distance travelled by a moving object.

Speed = distance travelled(x) / time taken(t)

S = x/t

Velocity 

Velocity is defined as displacement of a moving object in unit time.

Or

Velocity is speed of an object moving in particular direction.

Or

Rate of change of position of a body in a specific direction 

Velocity = displacement/time

V = x/t
