VECTOR QUANTITY AND SCALAR QUANTITY

Vector and scalar are two type of quantities used in physics and mathematics.

Scalar quantity

Quantities that can be described by magnitude (numerical value) alone is known as scalar quantities.
Eg:- mass of an object, distance covered by an object, energy, time

Vector quantity

Quantity that can be described by both magnitude (numerical value) and direction is known as vector quantity
Eg:- displacement of body, gravity force
