COOLING EFFECTS OF EVAPORATION

 Why should we able to sip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather than a cup?

Surface area of saucer is more compared to a cup. Surface area is factor that affect rate of evaporation- As the surface area increases rate of evaporation also increases. Since saucer have more surface area than cup, rate of evaporation will be more for tea/milk in saucer than cup. Because of cooling effect of evaporation tea/milk in saucer cools done fast so we are able to sip hot tea/milk faster from a saucer rather than a cup.
