pH VALUE FOR ACID AND BASE
pH SCALE
A scale for measuring hydrogen ion concentration in a solution. In other words, A scale used to represent strength of an acid or a base solutions ,based on hydrogen ion concentration.
- pH measures generally from 0 (very acidic) to 14 (very alkaline).
- pH of a neutral solution (neither acid nor base) is 7.
- If pH value is less than 7 then the solution is acidic, as it decreases from 7 strength of acid increases.
- If pH value is greater than 7 then the solution is basic, as it increases from 7 strength of base increases.
