SPECIFIC HEAT CAPACITY

 The specific heat capacity of a material is the amount of heat energy required by that material to raise its temperature by 1⁰c. Denoted by c.

Unit - J/kg⁰c

Equation to fin specific heat capacity (c) = heat energy(E)/mass of material (m) x change in temperature (ΔT)

C = E/mΔT

From this equation,

Heat energy required or absorbed by a body to change it temperature can be found if it’s specific heat capacity is provided using equation

H = mcΔT
